A platform bed to me and from what I have read implies the bed comes with a support system for the mattress so that you can eliminate the box spring. This product though nice looking only came with the four slats that a normal bed would have. This would have been great to know before I bought it so I could have planned a little better, and is the reason I am leaving the feedback. If you do plan to buy this bed, you should plan on buying or making a support system for your mattress.

I recently purchased this bed. The item description says its a 'Platform bed' but there are only four thin slats provided. Putting the mattress on just four slats, is deforming my 600$ memory foam mattress. I don't even feel comfortable sleeping on it, since I feel scared that it will break apart. Also the slats are uneven and rough and it snapped my mattress from beneath when I placed it over the slats. I feel cheated for having paid such a huge price for a 'Platform' bed which has no support system whatsoever. I am not sure how to even use this bed with just four slats. I am highly disappointed with this product.

This bed has a beautiful finish and is made of high quality materials. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the wood. It was easy to assemble. We are just using it with a mattress and no box springs. The slats wouldn't fully support the mattress, but we laid down a sheet of plywood on top of the slats and now have no issues with the mattress. I would highly recommend this bed frame.
