Received my headboard yesterday it looks really nice , there is only one thing thats put me off it , it has this horrible chemical smell , cant get rid of it have tried washing it in warm soapy water . Had to take it off my bed the smell fills the room . I will put it ouside in the fresh air to see if that will help .

Like previous reviewer noted, original packaging and was worse for wear when it arrived. The box is HUGE since it includes just the top piece and two side legs. Mine had the hardware included. Despite most of the styrofoam packaging shifted and one of the legs loose in the shredded remains of the box, I noted no finish flaws or broken pieces. Fit and finish are good. The vinyl faux leather has a nice pattern as well - though not apparent in the product photo.Styrofoam packing is the type that flakes all over the place, just to warn you.Assembly is just the top piece and the two legs. Instructions are useless, but not really needed. The included long screws for attaching to your bed frame may be a touch too long so I would add a hacksaw to your tools list. True to size and color according to listed specs.Mine had a funky chemical smell and a kind of slimy coating on the vinyl. Wiping the entire thing down with a clorox wipe fixed that though.4 stars for quality and minus 1 for packaging.

This headboard has a very dark brown wooden frame with a cushioned black faux leather(vinyl) center. It looks very nice and is probably worth about the price I paid for it (I wouldn't pay any more). The item arrived in the manufactures packaging which adequately protected the item; however, there was a hole in the packaging when the item arrived at my house. I assume that the hardware to put the item together was lost through this hole. I wound up get replacement hardware at Home Depot for a couple of dollars.
